Party Wall Surveyors

We work with party wall surveyors who will carry out thorough inspections on the Party Wall, verifying the condition of the walls and ceiling that separate the Building Owner’s property from its Adjoining Owners, making sure that it’s stable.

Altering a listed structure without the required approvals based on the Party Wall Act 1996 which gives the sole rights to property owners to work on the party wall is against the law.

Doesn’t matter if it’s just to dig beneath the foundation level, to bring down the party wall, to erect a new wall at the threshold between 2 properties, to make it deeper, taller or shorter, or even little adjustments like painting or adding of gate posts, all these can have an effect on a listed building’s structure character in the Grade I & Grade II Listed Buildings. The conservation area also requires good knowledge of the Regulations and Rules that Apply to each area of London.

The 1996 Party Wall Act has provided a basis for preventing and settling disputes as regards party walls.
When the work is done on a party wall doesn’t get the necessary approvals, this might affect the sale of the property, assuming you’re planning to sell. Each developer has the legal right to carry on with the Party Wall Surveyor cost, both neighbours can seek and appoint a surveyor that will carry out a survey before work commences. Alternatively, you can just sign the Notice of Party Wall Act Section 6.

Please request PDF – Three Meters / Six Meters Notice of Party Wall Act Section 6, you can contact us on 020 7183 9333 or [email protected]

There will be a need for the owners of the property to be converted and all other adjoining neighbours to append their signatures. This way, you can avoid the cost of hiring a Party Wall Surveyor. We, however, recommend that you appoint a Party Wall Surveyor or fill out a form that you can request by contacting us by email or telephone. Please be aware to take as many photographs as you can before any work begins. These photographs need to capture all the adjoining walls from both ends of the properties/apartments/commercial estates. We avail all our clients with free surveys.
